I was inspired by a story told.....but I sit and think of the friends, family, women that have passed, are battling, are recovering or just received that shock of the news of Breast Cancer. I needed to create these 7 pieces in acknowledgement of those women. The tell of a story from the beginning in their journey the raw shock, the striping back, the dawning of the path ahead to the assault on the body that is to be endured, to the rebuilding of that body to be celebrated in all its glory. These works will form part of my exhibition, with a donation to Breast Cancer Foundation NZ from the work titled Cancer Warriors (1250mm x 960mm).
